Poplar River First Nation

Poplar River First Nation  requires a new water treatment plant (WTP) and storage reservoir to replace the exsiting water treatment system currently in the community. The project will include installing a new raw water intake into Poplar River, a new reject water outfall pipe into the river,constructing a new WTP with a below ground reservoir, constructing a new raw water lift station, booster station and installing water intake and reject piping along the community access roads to the river. The water treatment system will be sized for fire flows to design year 20, based on projected population growth.

Notice of Intent to Make a Determination – Start of Public Comment Period
2020 -08 -20 – Indigenous Services Canada  intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination,  Indigenous Services Cananda is  inviting public comments until 2020-09-25  respecting that determination.
