SR-1

 

This herd of about 150 elk was camped out just across Highway 22 from the proposed SR-1 Dry Dam Site this afternoon.  It makes me sick to think that nobody seems to care about their future.  And that of the rest of the ecosystem that revolves around this herd.  Cougars, Grizzlies, Coyotes, homesteads, and the elk themselves are all losers should that project go ahead. And all because of a few people feel threatened by another one in 500 year event.  I live south of the proposed dam and it doesn't help me at all.  But I will be subject to the acrid dust, stench, and loss of wildlife I have come to love living in this pristine environment.
