Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Small Craft Harbours (DFO-SCH), Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Fish and Fish Habitat Protection Program (DFO-FFHPP) and Transport Canada (TC) publish the Notice of Determination and have determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
This determination was based on the following factors:
- impacts on the rights of Indigenous peoples of Canada;
- Indigenous knowledge;
- community knowledge;
- comments received from the public; And
- technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.
Mitigation measures will be implemented for several elements of the environment, in particular the following elements: air, water and fish. The various mitigation measures for the project are attached.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Small Craft Harbours (DFO-SCH), Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Fish and Fish Habitat Protection Program (DFO-FFHPP) and Transport Canada (TC) are satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
Therefore, Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Small Craft Harbours (DFO-SCH), Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Fish and Fish Habitat Protection Program (DFO-FFHPP) and Transport Canada (TC)may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
