Dakota Women's Lodge (Winyan Tipi) – Public Comments Invited
May 24th, 2023 – Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) must determine whether the proposed Dakota Women's Lodge (Winyan Tipi), located in Portage la Prairie, MB, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this determination, Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project
Dakota Plains will construct an environmentally-conscious women's lodge to serve as a focal point for healing, land-based programming, and self-empowerment. The lodge will be approximately 2900 square feet, and will include an open meeting space, small meeting rooms, kitchen and outdoor traditional cultural space.
