Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination
Larkhill Avenue Reconstruction - Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Shilo

May 19, 2023 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. In general, the work includes:

1. Removal of existing roadway, sidewalks, storm sewer and watermain along Larkhill Avenue from Kingston Avenue to Notre Dame Avenue/St. Barbara Avenue.
2. New storm sewers and catch basins along Larkhill Avenue.
3. New watermain and hydrant along Larkhill Avenue from Esquimalt to Notre Dame Avenue/St. Barbara Avenue.
4. New sidewalks, new paving, and new two-way bike lane.
