The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. CAF TG's stand-up and mandate is based on Canada's Defence Policy - Strong, Secure, Engaged (SSE) initiative 27 and 28, to create a new Canadian Armed Forces Transition Group that provides support to all members to seamlessly transition to post-military life and ensure that all benefits will be in place before a member transitions to post-military life.

In order to facilitate the new CAF TC Shilo, and the expanded services mandated in SSE; infrastructure to accommodate approximately 29 personnel with an estimated total gross floor area of 944.1 square meters, inclusive of identified workspaces, reception areas, as well as individual, group and specialized counselling spaces, is required.

The project site is located on a fully serviced lot that is currently vacant and fully grassed. The building will utilize existing roadways for access and will be connected to existing utilities. The building design will meet the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver Standard and be certified.
