The Proposed Project

Whitecap Dakota First Nation (WDFN) is proposing to develop the Dakota Springs Spa.  The development involves the construction of a spa facility to be used in conjunction with the existing Dakota Dunes Resort located at 203 Dakota Dunes Way in Whitecap, SK.  The planned development includes constructing a two storey building that includes saunas and treatment rooms.  The spa will adjoin the current hotel building.  The building footprint will cover approximately 23,600 square feet.

The utilities will be tied into the existing infrastructure located at the site.  The water source for the spa is WDFN's commercial water treatment plant and wastewater/sewage generated by the spa will be handled by the sewage system that is in place and feeds into the community's lagoon system.  No additional roadways or parking facilities will be constructed and utilities will be tied into the existing infrastructure at the resort property.  Construction activities will include site preparation (earthworks and grading), utility trenching, and building construction.  The spa will be operated in conjunction with the existing hotel at the resort.
