Notice of intent to make a determination

Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC) Women's Shelter - Public Comments Invited

January 27, 2022, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation must determine whether the proposed Women's Shelter in Montreal Lake First Nation, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC) is proposing to build a 10 suite Women's Shelter on developed land within the community of Montreal Lake First Nation. The proposed project is to be a single storey wood framed building with a footprint of 1,265 m2. Space will be allocated for vehicle parking and greenspace will be retained. Project site works will include clearing of vegetation and topsoil removal, foundation excavation, installation of a septic system, construction of a foundation, backfill and grading. The project will not include vegetation removal or any works near water.
