Paqtnkek Bayside Business Centre – Public Comments Invited

December 13, 2022 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Paqtnkek Bayside Business Centre, located in Paqtnkek Mi'kma Nation, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

The project consists of the development of a Business Centre on previously cleared and partially developed lands.  The development is located on fee simple lands and is in the process of being added to reserve.  The total project footprint is approximately 14000m2 with the building footprint of 1980m2. The total project footprint includes the construction of the building, parking lot, sidewalks, etc. The building envelope is a mixture of concrete tilt panels and curtain wall. The building structure will be constructed with either mass timber or steel. The mechanical system is an energy efficient VRF system.  Activities include development  of the site (importing fill) for the commercial building and related infrastructure.
