The Proposed Project

Public Services and Procurement Canada plans to replace the drinking water treatment system at the Timiskaming Dam Complex. The proposed project involves replacing the water treatment equipment, replacing the shed that houses the equipment, and involves the installation of 150 m of new distribution piping requiring a narrow excavation approximately 2.4 m deep. Some of the waterlines will follow the existing alignment and some will be realigned.

The buildings serviced by the drinking water system are the dam keeper's residence, office, workshop, and building leased for a canoe rental company. The project will require the contractor to provide potable water for the users for the duration that the old system is out of service and until the new system is fully functional.
