Berens River Harbour Launch Ramp Recontruction – Public Comments Invited

July 18, 2022 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada must determine whether the proposed Berens River Harbour Launch Ramp Reconstruction project, located in Berens River, Manitoba, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Fisheries and Oceans Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Fisheries and Oceans Small Craft Harbours group plans to reconstruct a launch ramp located in Berens River, Manitoba. Berens River Harbour is situated at the mouth of the Berens River on the East side of Lake Winnipeg and is located approximately 350 km North of Winnipeg, Manitoba. 

The planned work includes: 

  • Demolition and removal of existing concrete launch ramp pads
  • Excavation to prepare for new ramp installation
  • Installation of new granular base and sub-base
  • Installation of new pre-cast concrete launch ramp pads
