Miawpukek First Nation Centre Culvert Replacement -  Public Comments Invited

June 1, 2022  – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Miawpukek First Nation Centre Culvert Replacement located in Miawpukek First Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

The project is the replacement of a damaged culvert (CSP culvert, 28m length and 4000mm in diameter) located on Miawpukek Drive in Conne River. Miawpukek Drive serves as the major connector road of Conne River. The replacement aluminum culvert will be approximately 28m in length, 3990 mm in diameter. The physical works will include excavation, culvert removal, culvert replacement, filling road repaving, sidewalk replacement and guardrail replacement. The sizes of areas affected are approximately 115m2 for the road surface, 20m2 from the sidewalk surface, and 175 – 200m2 for the roadside slope.
