Public Notice - Public Comments Invited

May 04, 2022 – Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada must determine whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

Written comments must be submitted by June 04, 2022 to the contact identified on the project page.

The Proposed Project

New Fibre Installation

Keewaytinook Okimakanak plans to install underground fiber optic cabling, for Internet purposes, to all residential homes in North Spirit Lake. The project involves the installation of approximately 4.0km of aerial fiber optic cable all along Airport Road.

The cable is to be attached to existing support structures such as utility/telephone poles that parallel existing roadways. Support structures may require structural improvements to support cable attachments
