May 6, 2022 – Infrastructure Canada must determine whether the proposed Williams Lake First Nation Community Playground Project, located in Sugarcane, BC, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Infrastructure Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public. The Proposed Project

The proposed project will increase the quality of recreation on the T'exelcemc First Nation by rehabilitating an existing playground. The proposed project will replace the majority of the existing structures and resurface the playground from gravel to a rubberized surface, creating improved accessibility for the community. 

The project works include:

- site preparation;

- rehabilitation of existing playground including replacement of  existing structures;

- installation of ramps;

- installation of rubberized surface; and,

- related works.

The Project will result in improved access to and/or increased quality of community, cultural, and/or recreational infrastructure that will enable children and  families to engage in healthy exercise.
