Potlotek First Nation Rapid Housing Subdivision -  Public Comments Invited

March 21, 2022  – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Potlotek First Nation Rapid Housing Subdivision located in Potlotek First Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

The Project includes the development of up to nine residential lots (approximately 1300m2 each), underground utilities to connect with existing municipal sewer and water systems; gravel driveways and culverts for each housing lot; a new gravel roadway (150m long x 20m wide), including ditches and culverts and overhead electrical services. Also included is the installation of a new waterline and a new sanitary sewer main to Simtuk Awti (Chapel Island Road) to connect the development to the existing municipal sewer and water system. The total development area for the lots and the road is approximately 15 000 m2.
