The Proposed Project

ROHI Engineering Ltd. (ROHI) was engaged in February 2021 by Sunchild First Nation (Sunchild) to provide engineering planning services for a new residential subdivision in order to accommodate Sunchild's need for approximately 200 residential lots for their citizens over the next 25 years.
The overall subdivision concept incorporates a total of 200 residential lots (~77 Acres), constructed in four phases. Other amenities of the subdivision concept include greenspace (~157 Acres), a multi-family area (~5.8 Acres), space for commercial development (~5.2 Acres), roadways and a multi-use trail system.

It is important to note that after this fiscal year, Sunchild will run out of building lots within the Nation. It is also important to note that the existing infrastructure within the Nation is aging and requires upgrades and replacement. The development of the subdivision and required infrastructure will provide locations for future builds and infrastructure that will benefit the entire Sunchild First Nation. The lack of available building lots, aging infrastructure and steadily increasing population make the need for the new subdivision critical.
