Notice of intent to make a determination

Mahikan Housing Development– Public Comments Invited

February 23, 2022 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed  Mahikan Housing Development, located in Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

The purpose of the Project is to (a) build eight houses (b) develop an access road to the housing development and (c) ‘service' the lots which will include installing holding tanks for potable water and sewage/gray water, installing a culvert and driveway, grading the site and seeding it, installing an insulated skirting, and connecting the houses to hydro.
