The Proposed Project

Work is to include the reconstruction of the existing core roadway through the Moosomin First Nation community core. Work will include cutting down the existing road to subgrade removing unsuitable materials. Importing new granular materials from permitted/approved gravel sites. Installation of a HDPE geotextile to separate aggregates and substructures for improved stability. Regrading existing ditches to improve drainage within the community core. Approximately 1200 meters of road ranging from 7.5m to 9m is anticipated to be constructed. Minor culvert replacements will also be within the scope. Road will be a gravel constructed road.

Road goes through the following Legal Land Descriptions:

NW 1/4 29 47 16 W 3
SE 1/4 29 47 16 W 3

New culverts and road structure. Roads will be partially closed during construction (down to one lane traffic).

Proposed activities include surveying, design, excavation, hauling, compaction, culvert installation. Project will occur next to existing utility corridor including water lines, sewer mains, sewer force mains, Gas, and Power which are all buried in the ditches.
