Notice of Determination for Pheasant Rump Nakota Nation Solid Waste Transfer Station

October 21, 2021 - Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed Pheasant Rump Nakota Nation Solid Waste Transfer Station is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

The determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

-the existing solid waste transfer station at Pheasant Rump has reached the end of its life span, and the construction of a new solid waste transfer station will benefit its membership
-review of design drawings and geotechnical investigation
-no comments were received from the public about the project
-mitigation measures are required for the project

Implementation of the following mitigation measures is required for the project:
-clearing for the project will happen in non-breeding period for birds between October and March

Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
