September 27, 2021 – Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed Heiltsuk Phase 3 Water System Upgrades is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

The determination was based on the following factors:

• The proposed project will replace aging infrastructure assets enhancing the resiliency of the centralized community infrastructure.
• No comments were received from the public about the project.
• Mitigation measures required for the project will be implemented through the Environmental Management Plan.
