The Proposed Project

This project involves the replacement of two chiller units, a roof-top cooling tower to improve  building performance and prolong use of the current cooling system. The work will involve  complete replacement of the chillers and their associated equipment (piping/pumps/ controls/ filtration and treatment systems) housed within the building. The cooling tower that's serves the chillers, located on the roof, will also be replaced and tied into the existing piping. A new  concrete base will be poured for the tower to be placed on. The cooling tower is in proximity to rooftop smokestacks that have been identified to be in use by Chimney Swift, a protected Species at Risk. While the project will not affect the birds or their habitat, the actives involved  have the potential to disturb them. Mitigation measures will be implemented to avoid and reduce any potential disturbance to the birds.
