PER 21-090 – Paving Viterra Pacific – Public comments invited

August 19, 2021 – As part of its Project and Environmental Review process, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority must determine whether the proposed PER 21-090 – Paving Viterra Pacific, located at Viterra Pacific Terminals 1803 Stewart St, Vancouver, BC, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Written comments to be received by September 17, 2021.

To help inform this determination and a decision on whether or not to approve the proposed project, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.  For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website. In addition, your contact information may be shared with third parties, e.g., the tenant, other relevant agencies, to help respond to your questions and inform possible mitigations.

The proposed project

Viterra Inc. are proposing to pave a portion of their western property and created a 35 car parking lot and a driveway which will run north/south adjacent to Annex 2, located at 1803 Stewart Street, Vancouver. The paving will make up an area of approximately 2,500 square metres and will be graded to direct stormwater towards existing catch basins and stormwater lines. Fencing will be installed around the perimeter of the parking area and lighting, designed with a sharp cut off and directed towards the ground, will be installed in the parking lot and down the driveway.
