The Proposed Project

The project will replace the courtyard waterproofing and landscape materials.  Courtyard finishes will generally match the existing with concrete paving and there will be some improvements to the courtyard layout and alteration of the planter locations.  Removal and disposal of trees and planting in soft landscaped areas are expected and will follow recommendations outlined in an arborist report.  Existing mature white pines will be removed and replaced with native species.  Existing pines will be chipped on site and used as mulch off site. The soil in the planters will be retained on site. One of the white pines was dedicated as a symbol of peace and unity with First Nations in 1993 by the CRA tenant.  A new tree will be planted to replace the current dedicated white pine.  The project team and will coordinate and communicate with CRA through project lifecycle and during implementation to address the new tree and considerations related to dedication/ceremony, if required.
