Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination
Ventilation Installation Electrical Rooms – Various Buildings

March 31, 2021 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

This project consists of work execution, labor, materials/supplies and tools needed for installing ventilation systems in electrical / mechanical / other rooms in multiple buildings (B60, B66, B78, B81, B87, B117, B123, B133, B216, B225, B306, H6, H7). The work involves, but is not limited to: walls opening, insulation, installation, relocation, dismantling and connection of the following equipment: ventilation ducts, piping, circuit breakers, electrical boxes, control panels, shutters, cables, ventilation outlet, fans and all the necessary equipment to carry out the openings and other essential work for the project realization. An air conditioner will also be dismantled. Management of contaminated residual materials and excavation work at building 66 for foundation drilling are also included in the project.
