Notice of Time Limit Suspension with Reasons

Ottawa — January 22, 2021 — On January 13, 2021, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (the Agency) suspended the 180-day time limit for the Planning Phase under the Impact Assessment Act for the Value Chain Solutions Heartland Complex Expansion Project (the Project), proposed by Value Chain Solutions Inc. (the proponent).

The Agency has taken this action further to a written request from the proponent that the time limit be suspended in order that it may have sufficient time to undertake additional consultation and provide the Agency with:

  • how it intends to address the issues referred to in the Summary of Issues, provided to the proponent on December 17, 2020; and
  • a detailed description of the Project that includes the information prescribed by the Information and Management of Time Limits Regulations.

When the Agency accepts the response to the Summary of Issues and a detailed description of the Project, the Agency will post a notice that the prescribed activity is completed and the 180-day time limit will resume.
