Former Landfill Site Remediation. Federal Contaminated Sites Inventory (FCSI) #07930006

December 2, 2020 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

This project consists of work execution, labor, materials/supplies and tools needed for the remediation of the former landfill site and ground water monitoring wells installation. Containment with a geomembrane and backfill will prevent contact with ecological receptors and water infiltration. Work includes but is not limited to; topsoil removal, backfill and levelling of the area, geomembrane installation, site remediation with contaminant free topsoil and hydroseeding. Drilling for the installation of seven ground water monitoring wells is planned.
