Notice of Determination for the Basadinaa - Crooked Lake Cottage Lots Head Lease #3 - Zagime Anishinabek First Nation
November 19, 2020 – Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed Basadinaa – Crooked Lake Cottage Lots Head Lease #3 - Zagime Anishinabek First Nation is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
The determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:
•In 2012, the First Nation held a successful designation vote with its membership to to continue running cottage resort communities on Sakimay IR 74 and Shesheep IR 74A;
•Zagime Anishinabek First Nation has requested that ISC issue a s. 53 lease by Band Council Resolution;
•No comments were received from the public;
•Operational requirements and Mitigation measures outlined by way of Property Standards byalw 2017-01, Community Standards bylaw 2017-02, Environmental Standards bylaw 2017-03 and EA checklists provided by Zagime.
Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
