Notice of intent to make a determination

Pelican Lake Timber Harvesting Plan- Public Comments invited

September 30, 2020 - Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Pelican Lake Timber Harvesting Plan, located on Chitek Lake IR 191, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

Pelican Lake First Nation has requested that a timber permit be issued for the 2020-2022 to Tolko Industries, who plan to harvest a total softwood volume of 16,906 m3, and a hardwood volume of 46,227 m3 from from cutblocks on Chitek Lake IR 191.
