Golden Ears Forcemain (GDEFM) Project - Public Comments Invited

September 16, 2020 – As part of its Project and Environmental Review process, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority must determine whether the proposed Golden Ears Forcemain (GDEFM) Project, located at approximately 250 metres west of the Golden Ears Bridge is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination and a decision on whether or not to approve the proposed project, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Metro Vancouver proposes to design, construct, and install twin sewer forcemains beneath the Fraser River to connect the new Golden Ears Pump Station, located north of the Fraser River, to the expanded Northwest Langley Wastewater Treatment Plant. This project is a component of a larger long-term servicing plan for Metro Vancouver to divert waste from Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows to an upgraded Northwest Langley Wastewater Treatment Plant (NLWWTP) in the Township of Langley. For more information, visit the Metro Vancouver project website.
