New additive tank for liquid bitumen – The public is invited to comment by October 4th 2020

 

September 4th, 2020 – A new project has been proposed and before proceeding, the Montreal Port Authority (MPA) must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. 

 

To help inform this decision, the MPA is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public [and may be posted online]. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Suncor Energy Products Partnership wishes to install at its Montreal-East Terminal, located at sections 95-97 of the Port of Montreal, an additive injection system when loading liquid bitumen in tank trucks. The new facilities include a 60,000 liter storage tank with an integrated secondary containment compartment, injection and unloading pumps, flow meters and control panels
