Cedar Beach Minor Dredging – Public Comments Invited

August 19, 2020 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada must determine whether the proposed Cedar Beach Minor Dredging, located in Cedar Beach, ON is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Fisheries and Oceans Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Town of Kingsville, with the approval of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, wishes to remove approximately 900 cubic feet of built up sand that has deposited within the entrance channel at Cedar Beach, ON and is causing a hazard to marine navigation. Dredged material is to be redeposited on the beach which is believed to be the source.
