The Proposed Project

Under the ship to shore crane replacement program, Montreal Terminals Gateway Partnership (MGTP) will carry out, in 2020, reinforcement work of the crane rails underground foundations at berths 76 and 77 at the Port of Montreal. That construction work also includes the replacement of the drainage system between crane rails. In 2021, MGTP will receive, assemble, and install four (4) new Post-Panamax electric ship to shore cranes. In 2022, two (2) of the three (3) existing cranes will be dismantled.

At the end of the replacement and enhancement program, CAST terminal will be equipped with five (5) ship to shore cranes, an Liebherr crane and four (4) Post-Panamax cranes.
