Notice of intent to make a determination

Kasabonika Lake New 7 – 12 school – Public Comments Invited

April 27, 2020 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Kasabonika Lake New 7 – 12 school, located in Kasabonika Lake First Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

The project is a new school for Grade 7-12 with a floor area of 3,000 square meters.  The building will include a gym, stage/cafeteria, music/MPR, library, classrooms, and administration and support spaces.  The site will include a multi-purpose athletic field, granular pathways, parking lot and access roads off the main road as well as from the road leading to the dump.  Approximately 22,170 square meters of the site area will be seeded with grass mixes.
