Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination

March 31, 2020 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed installation of an above ground storage tank at International Peacekeeping Support Centre, Yavoriv, Ukraine is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. 

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Canadian Task Force on Op UNIFIER is planning to install two 10,000L above ground diesel storage tanks. This installation is anticipated to occupy an area of 15 meters by 20 meters. The tank will be used to increase the on-site fuel reserve of the Task Force.
