The Proposed Project

A contractor will be hired to excavate/drill an estimated 3 boreholes and 4 test pits in order to conduct a geotechnical review to inform potential future rifle range development. An access road (roughly estimated at 200m2 in length) will need to be developed to drill boreholes, and landings at each borehole site that are 6 x 6 metres in size. Current exact locations are unknown and there may be more added with additional mitigation measures identified in site specific planning. Tet pits are expected to be no deeper than 5 metres (likely 1-2 m wide x 4m long); test pits will be backfilled with excavated native material. Boreholes (15-50 m in depth) will be decommissioned as per British Columbia Groundwater Regulations where piezometers are not installed. The project will take place between March-May 2020.
