The Proposed Project

The permit holder, Western Canada Marine Response Corporation, has requested an extension to both the commencement and expiry dates of the approved project permit (No. 16-290), which has a commencement date of February 10, 2020, and an expiry date of February 28, 2021. It is proposed to extend the commencement date to September 10, 2020, and extend the expiry date to September 30, 2021. The permit approved the construction of an oil spill emergency response base at 2800 Commissioner Street, Vancouver.

While under review, proposed dates were revised to extend the commencement date to December 10, 2020, and extend the expiry date to November 30, 2021.

The works approved through Project Permit No. 16-290 are comprised of marine piles and floats, riparian shore protection, two upland buildings and site services, and a paved parking area.
