Georgia Pacific Gypsum Plant Demolition – Public Comments invited
February 3, 2020 - As part of its Project and Environmental Review process, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority must determine whether the proposed Gypsum Plant Demolition at 12509 116th Avenue, located in Surrey B.C, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this determination and a decision on whether or not to approve the proposed project, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project
Georgia Pacific Canada Gypsum Holding ULC proposes to undertake demolition works at their site at 12509 116th Avenue, Surrey, a portion of which is within the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority's jurisdiction. The proposed works include the demolition of all upland structures to slab on grade, as well as the demolition of a conveyer system located on a dock that extends into the Fraser River. The wharf and docking structure are to remain, however the conveyor belt, the belt's supporting structure and related hopper located above are to be demolished and removed from site.
The proposed works would take place over a four-month period.
