November 19, 2019 – As part of its Project and Environmental Review process, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority must determine whether the proposed Rail Bypass Track Layout, located in North Vancouver, B.C. is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination and a decision on whether or not to approve the proposed project, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Neptune Bulk Terminals Canada Ltd. (the Applicant) is proposing to upgrade existing rail lines on their terminal located at 1001 Low Level Road, North Vancouver. The project consists of modifying, extending, replacing, or installing approximately 4,219 metres of railway track. Works are proposed Monday to Saturday, excluding Statutory Holidays, for 24 hours a day. This will allow works to be completed outside regular rail schedules. Construction activities include minor excavation and fill to bring new and modified railways tracks to the specified elevations.
