Subject: Roberts Bank Terminal 2 Project - Timing of next steps

Kyle,

Further to our conversation earlier in the week, I would like to clarify two items related to the timing of activities for the environmental assessment of the Roberts Bank Terminal 2 project.

1) Timing of PMV's response to the CEAA letter of April 17th

CEAA requested an estimated schedule for provision of the additional information requirements included in the Review Panel Terms of Reference and updated EIS Guidelines. Please note the Agency would appreciate receiving the schedule before April 30, 2015, rather than April 20 as indicated in the letter.

2) Timing of the public comment period on the EIS (excluding marine shipping and provincial socio-economic assessment information)

Port Metro Vancouver submitted its EIS to the Agency on March 27, 2015. The Agency will soon make the EIS available for a review and comment period to receive input on its completeness as evaluated against the requirements of sections 1-16 of the EIS Guidelines and applicable legislation. The Agency will inform Port Metro Vancouver of the results of the completeness review following the close of the public comment period.

For the additional information required in sections 17 (Marine Shipping) and 18 (Provincial Socio-economic Assessment) of the updated EIS Guidelines, the Agency will hold an additional review and comment period on the completeness of the additional information once it has been prepared and submitted by Port Metro Vancouver. If there are any additional issues that arise as a result of the completeness review on the additional information, Port Metro Vancouver will be notified at that time.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have further questions related to the timing and sequence of these next steps in the environmental assessment process.
